Longfin smelt is another fish species from the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta that is in decline.  According to the Center of Biological Diversity, the San Francisco Bay-Delta longfin smelt population has been at just 3 percent of levels measured less than 20 years ago.  I don't quite understand why it is not listed.

This painting is a liberal interpretation of the mostly bright silver colored longfin smelt.  "Longfin smelt", watercolor on 10"x14" Lanaquarelle paper.
