I love the expression on her face! Boy, I know that feeling she's having. :) Wonderful art!

Yeah, that's what I was trying to capture on her face. She was a tireless woman, always out in the field planting and harvesting and then she cooks all night for her family. She used to come to my house and, exclaiming in a raspy voice, "Rene, mangez!". It was one of the few French phrases she knew. Her husband (see portrait painting titled Papa Yebe) was a really good fish farmer but certainly did not work as much as she did.
